This project began when our clients acquired the adjoining townhouse to make a double wide, 40 foot brownstone townhouse in the Upper West Side historic district.
Both buildings were demolished to clear the site, blast down two levels and begin again to fashion a new 8 story 20,000 SF home fitting for its size. The preserved and restored façade remain attached. This new house has all amenities of a super luxury city home. Featured are a five story post tensioned stone stair running up a light filled atrium; a double height living room; his and her studies, a music studio, a pool gym and spa; two gardens – back yard and roof garden with entertaining space; and five en-suite bedrooms.
Working with our client’s representative, FMA coordinated a large and international team of consultants, 16 entities in all, including London based designers, French Lighting and Landscape Designers, and local specialists from support of excavation to elevator, chimney, and kitchen planning.
This multi-year effort will result in an extraordinary, one-of-a-kind home.
