A methodical approach to all our work

Architecture > Renovation and adaptive reuse > New construction >
Master planning > Site planning > Feasibility studies > Space planning > Interior design > Signage > Furniture > Lighting > Sustainable design

Disciplined methodology underpins each Fradkin & McAlpin project. We guide our clients as, we together, explore and balance complicated and often dynamic variables to articulate and refine their objectives. Our conversations encompass not only quantitative and functional requirements but also qualitative issues such as aesthetics, image and spatial relationships; we cover not only practical matters but also cherished dreams and inspired brainstorms.

Separately, we study existing conditions, environmental and regulatory issues, site constraints, sustainability options, and project economics.

Then we produce a narrative brief summarizing the team’s consensus as to the project’s goals and challenges. With this in hand, we develop several schematic design options and discuss the strengths and weaknesses of each with our clients before choosing one. Careful, thorough, and methodical, this process creates a deeply organized environment that not only addresses our clients' current priorities but also anticipates future needs.

Finally, we develop the chosen scheme, document the design in construction drawings, orchestrate and administer the competitive bidding process, and oversee the construction process on behalf of our clients as their representative.
