From the grand staircase in the foyer to the coffered ceiling in the Renaissance room along the back of the first floor, the public spaces are lavish in this 42-feet-wide 1929 townhouse. Seeking to update the private spaces for a more contemporary lifestyle, the home's new owner called on Fradkin & McAlpin. Infrastructure upgrades filled the first phase of the project; the next involved reconfiguration of the many small rooms on the third and fourth floors as a master bedroom suite and spa, complete with dressing area, bath, office, massage room, and fitness room in the Art Deco style of Emile-Jacques Ruhlmann.
